My Shadow detached from my sleeping body last night,

Raced the night dew into a Reflection Pool

Heavy as memory, vast as the Void.

“I saw an ember among the velvet black,” my Shadow said.

“What if it burns? Could be eternal fire.” I whispered.

“You’ll never know until you leap,” it explained.
