Two for the Price of One

Just a quick hello!

I was feeling a bit rough yesterday so I give you two short poems: one about opal, the other about the unnoticed leaf.

The first one, “October Opal,” grew out of a prompt to write an acrostic haiku from Mindlovemisery.

October opal
Layered in basil and lies
Deflects your evil eyes

Nice and happy, wasn’t it? šŸ˜€ The second poem, “Maple Leaf,” was inspired by a poem written by Bronislaw Maj called “A Leaf.” I took the poem and ran it through Language is a Virus poetry generator:

The last maple leaf
of October

Not admired
Fades transparent

Spinning forever

      1. Oh yes, I love all the artwork that is created for the celebration. It is a wonderful tradition to honor those friends and family that have passed on. …Have you tried Poetweet? If you use Twitter, this site will grab some of your tweets and make a poem. It is strange, but fun to see how it turns out.
