Boulder in My Throat

Good morning friends!

I found a shard of depression this morning and used yoga and writing to shove it back out. Movement helps, but writing is what ultimately conquers any invaders 😀

A boulder snuck into my throat
As I began my sunrise salutations
Even deep breath couldn’t budge

Downward dog pressed outward
Monkey mind rolled it back

I dug until its roots showed
Then flung it with my words

  1. There is something soothing about connecting in movement – even when it is still a fight – to either move or calm the straining mind – to find the place where something finally gives way, and to be able to use the words in spirit to finally set oneself free.

Loved the brevity of this – and how well you “flung it out” … 🙂

  3. I’ve been wanting to join a yoga class and this really makes me want to now.
Those shards really know how to sneak up on you, don’t they?

    1. Yeah and sometimes they stay for days… I do yoga over Youtube called 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene. If you are interested, take a look:

  6. ..Flung it with my words!

Love that 🙂 I think a lot of us writers/poets do exactly that everyday.
