Cave Meditation

Stop the flowing river
Thought stream

Inhale

Don’t think of weight
Above your head

Exhale

Take in the perfume this side
Of Netherworld

Inhale

Don’t lean against Her side
Cave cricket metropolis

Exhale

Breath like cloud formations
Where’s the thermostat?

Inhale

Don’t consider what found
New home in your hair

Exhale

Stop the flowing river
Thought stream

Inhale

Rinse and Repeat

  1. That was a brilliant ‘inside view’ of an potholer’s mind – or a cave explorer’s.

Oh yes, it was as if they were my (monkey) thoughts. And after all that, I loved ‘rinse and repeat’.

  3. Wow, a perfect mantra for going into those cracks and crevices for sure. I remember being the safety guy as a coworker entered the sewer to do some sampling. As she descended, it seemed like a billion crickets jumped from the sides all at once…sooooo creepy! This was absolutely wonderful and spot on. Loved it!

  5. Oh, to stop the flow…consuming thought…I love how you open and close cyclically and how your content is delivered in breaths… nicely gathered. 🙂

    1. Thank you. It was borne out of my two experiences in real caves as well as my anxiety disorder. I’ve been stretching my boundaries and have found that a lot can be accomplished through breathing 😀
