Weekend Coffee Share: Happy Hot Air Balloon Day!

Good morning, my friends!

It’s still nice and cool today, so how about we go for a little walk today before it gets too warm? I promise to match your pace, unless you are jogging. I’ve never been a runner 😀 I have a lightweight thermos of your favorite beverage when you want it.

I know that yesterday was Hot Air Balloon Day, but I couldn’t resist. They remind me of my Grandmother because she was very fond of floating over the Grand Canyon by hot air balloon! It’s on my bucket list, so at the moment she holds the family record. Have you ever ridden in one? I think it would take some serious focus, but I know I could 😀

Let’s rest on a friendly bench up ahead so we can catch our breath and talk. How have you been? The schools in my district end their school year in the middle of June so I have a few more days left before break. The kids are getting used to seeing me around so it’s getting slightly easier lol. Between homeroom and fourth period, they are fairly quiet because they are still half asleep. After lunch is another story!

I’m still learning the technical skills behind fiction writing and poetry, so I post my daily “morning pages” on the blog and not much more. There is so much to learn and I find myself drowning in iambs, pentameters and character arcs on a daily basis. But I can’t turn down a challenge, especially when it comes to words.

I don’t know about you, but I think it’s getting warmer out here. How about we head back? It was so good to spend a few moments with you today. It’s the highlight of my week 🙂

Take care until we see each other again.

  1. Sorry, but I don’t run or jog unless something is chasing me. I’ll have to sit this one out. Would have happily ridden in a hot air balloon up until about 10 or 15 years ago. Now, I doubt it.

  2. Thank you for the beautiful walk. It’s nice to get moving. 🙂 I’ve never been in a hot air balloon, but I’d love to do it one day. I am afraid of heights so it might be a challenge, but I think I could handle it.

  3. What a lovely walk! It’s nice to be able to enjoy the cooler weather somewhere for a while (we’re in the middle of a strange heat-wave here). I love hot air balloons – though I’ve never been up in one I love to look at them!
Keep up the good writing! And good luck with the final parts of the year!

  4. I’ve always been a bit obsessed with hot air balloons. I think it has something to do with my love for The Wizard of Oz. I’ve never flown in one, though. I’d be a bit nervous, as heights make me jittery, but I’d still love to try it.

    1. I’ve never been up in one, but I would want to try. If nothing else, I could give the middle finger to my anxietry 😀 My grandmother was an amazing soul. Have a beautiful day!

  6. Ballooning is on my bucket list as well. Just seeing them is magical so I can only imagine what being in one would be like. Thanks for the coffee, and wishing you a wonderful week.

  8. Hot air ballooning sounds wonderful. I always enjoyed seeing them but when I lived in Santa Rosa, north of San Francisco, my daughter and I heard about a hot air balloon festival not far from us (in a small town called Windsor) so we went and it was such a fun and magical experience that we went again the next day. Then in the next three years, we went at least once each year during the three day festival. We always managed to take someone who had never experienced the festival before. It was fun to introduce them to it. If I had the opportunity, I would love to ride in one.
