What Do You See?

Gifts, packages, presents, mail
Heartbeat races, instinct sharpened
Quarry in sight

What is it?

A doddering paper doorway between
Lifeless Present and Exotic Next Moment
Doorway now obsolete

Isn’t it?

Color of honey blond presents curves, angles
Shadow dances with light, shapes emerge
A white appendage rises
Frayed aged edges show wisdom and presence

Finger of scarlet crowns
Wrinkled hills from the mountains and valleys
Juts off the honey landscape
Mother Earth peeks out

Do you see it?

    1. Anytime 😀 I really enjoy your challenges

  2. Such powerful imagery in this–the paper door is just one that hit me. You put a lot of thought into this and yet it flows so freely. And, yes, I like found poetry though I rarely go there. Mostly when I’m stuck.

    1. I try to keep a found poetry project in the wings for those days when I need a change of pace. I’d love to see one of yours some day 🙂

  3. Stunning words was a wow moment x
