NaPoWriMo: B&P’s Shardoma Style

After Seeing Cherry Blossoms for the First Time

Deep breath in
Rest on branch worn smooth
Pollen covers face
Buds on trunk
Hope thwarts blight every time
Moment–now photo

Created to celebrate National Poetry Writing Month and link two poetry forms for today’s B&P’s Shardoma and Beyond. The first section is a shardoma which is followed by two Bakers Street. I wrote it after I visited the cherry blossoms in D.C. for the first time.

Come play with poetry with us at Mindlovemisery’s Menagerie!

  1. It does have a “in the moment” experience like a haiku. I just love your header photo!!

    1. 🙂 Thank you so much for your inspiring words.

    2. That is a picture we took on a recent trip “to town” to see the cherry blossoms

  2. Living in the moment of NOW is sometimes such a hard thing to remember to do….much less to capture. Great job here 🙂

  3. I love how you’ve used the form to capture that sense of this being a fleeting moment — great job!
