Poets United Midweek Motif: Captivity

“Knowledge makes a man unfit to be a slave.”
― Frederick Douglass

Gateway to American Dream, limitless possibilities
Children, shelter, food, transportation
Nothing is denied
Locked mind, mercy of strangers
Addiction, abandoned, immobile
All is denied

This week’s Poets United Challenge is to  describe a captivity in a poem using imagery and narrative story ~ OR, simply use captivity as a motif.
