Mutant 750 Challenge: “Wave”

This week for the Mutant 750 challenge, I was given both a visual prompt (in this case a video) and a word prompt and definition.

Here is my creative monster. Enjoy 🙂

Right hand extended
The roll of the wrist is how
Great-Grandpa Leinen waved goodbye
The only memory-his wave sitting in Grandpa’s driveway

I am witness to memories as they buckle and toss
Family thread moving adjacent and intermingling
Mine never touches their fabric
Shared truths never revealed

A great aunt whose legacy is blue embroider
Childhood blanket sewn by buried history
Sourdough: family secret

    1. Thank you 🙂 I can still see my great-grandfather in his red ball-cap giving us the loop-d-loop wave as we pulled away.

Your thread-bare blanket did me in, emotionally. Good work.
